Thank you to each and every one of you who contributed to my fundraising campaign for my double album project dedicated to the piano works of Gabriel Pierné. I more than hit my goal of raising $ 6,250 in 30 days, which far exceeded my expectations and my goal of $ 5,000. I have received contributions from all over the world: Canada, United States, Belgium, France and Australia. With this amount, I will be able to cover the costs of producing the recording. This includes the rental of the hall and recording equipment, fees for the technical team as well as accommodation at Domaine Forget in Charlevoix for three full days. Thank you sincerely for your support. I will now be able to concentrate 100% on the basics which is: practice, practice and practice !
I have three big months ahead of me to prepare as best as I can for the recording of this double disc which will last more than 2 hours and 15 minutes of music, which is not negligible. Having financial peace of mind at this point in the process means everything to me. Those who have "bought" virtual recitals, this will give you a good idea of what the final product will look like, but let's face it, it will probably be more polished and matured when it comes to recording in August. However, performing in front of a (virtual) audience is important to approach the final stage with more confidence. Plus, without you realizing it, every time you practice or play a piece, it gets better and sometimes despite us.
Thank you again to everyone, you will receive your album in the mail during the month of November 2021 as indicated on the kickstarter page. The official launch will take place on December 12 during an All Pierne recital at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur in Montreal.
